One of the coolest parts of this job, and getting to live in Music City, is when an artist has a #1 song, they usually throw a big ole party to celebrate the writers and the artist as well…Thomas Rhett celebrated TWO #1 songs yesterday, for “Sixteen” and “Look What God Gave Her”…and I had a chance to ask TR everythng from, how are the girls, (Wife Lauren is pregnant with girl #3!) to what’s it like having his dad, superstar singer/songwriter, Rhett Akins, as an opening act.

TR AND Dad both expressed their love and gratitude for each other, both as father and son, as well as respecting each other’s writing skills…Dad did mention how TR gave him an extra 2 minutes on stage…lol…btw.

TR and the family are dressing up as Little Mermaid cast members for Halloween, in case you were wondering…(yeah, we asked those kind of questions) Thomas Rhett told us what songwriting “101” means, and how he is so humbled by all of these accolades!!!
